BRICS Games 2024 – partners of the anniversary 10th Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon

The anniversary 10th Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon will be held on 10-12 May in Kazan.

Over two days, 30,000 participants from 17 countries will compete at distances of 3 km, 10 km, 21.1 km, and 42.2 km. There will also be 300 and 600 metre races for children, and a 40 metre TIMERBABY race for toddlers.

The Russian Marathon Championship featuring leading Russian athletes will take place as part of the 10th Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon. The 10 km distance will be covered by Denis Dorokhov, popular Russian comedian and actor, alongside other sports enthusiasts.

The BRICS Games 2024 became partners of the Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon. On 10 May, the Games Mascot, Bricsik the Leopard, will take part in the TIMERKIDS children’s races, where everyone will be able to meet and take photos with the hero of the upcoming international competitions in Kazan.

On 11 May, the Parade of Nations: Towards the BRICS Games will take place at the Trudovye Rezervy Stadium, with more than 150 people attending. The participants will march with the flags of their countries, the regions of Russia, and the districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Popular bands “Otpetye Moshenniki” and “Murakami” will perform in a concert on the occasion of the Kazan Marathon.

From 9 to 12 May, the BRICS Games Photo Zone will be located at the Kazan Marathon EXPO (Central Stadium Indoor Track, 2a, Tashayak St.), where visitors can get commemorative prizes and learn more about the most anticipated sporting event of the summer of 2024.

The Kazan Marathon is a member of the BRICS Marathon League, a project that unites the largest marathons in Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan), as well as in Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and other BRICS Countries in the near future.

Reference: The BRICS Games will be held in Kazan from 12 to 23 June. More than 4,500 participants from the BRICS Countries and invited nations are expected to compete in over 20 sports.

The renovated sports venues in Kazan will welcome Russian national team leaders such as Evgeny Kuznetsov, world and European diving champion; Svetlana Kolesnichenko, multiple Olympic artistic swimming champion; Yana Egorian, two-time Olympic sabre fencing champion; Lala Kramarenko, Russian rhythmic gymnastics champion; and Niyaz Ilyasov, Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist in judo.
